Mumias Township Primary School (GIRLS)
Older children attending the Noah's Ark day care centre are taught at nearby Mumias Township primary school. The Nasio Trust continues to provide meals, medication and other support to these children until they have finished school.

When she is able, her mother works as a domestic help. When Sumeya is older she wants to be a teacher.

Family history: Amidah's father died of an AIDS related illness. She lives with her mother in a well furnished semi-permanent house. Her mother sells maize for a living. Amidah also lives with her step sister Shammy (they have the same father who died in May 2001) who also attends the centre. Amidah came to the centre in 2003 and is happy, clean and healthy looking. When Amidah is older she wants to be a nurse.

Family history: Zakia lives in a well-manned homestead with her Grandmother and Grandfather. Her Grandfather is a businessman (runs a Posho Mill) and her Grandmother is a subsistent farmer therefore provision of essential physiological necessities is not a problem. However Zakia’s father died in 2002 and mother in 1999, Zakia has two other siblings who she also lives with. She came to the centre in 2005 and was and still is happy and lively. When she grows up she wants to be a doctor.

Family history: Electine lives with her Grandma and on a plot bought by her Grandma's son. The Grandma has no land and so survives by working for other people. She lives with four grandchildren and has no proper source of income for looking after them. We have no details on Electine's parents. Her younger cousin, Shadrack Neteide, and younger brother, Daniel Manyasa, also attend the centre. When Electine is older she wants to be a doctor.
