St Christopher's School (GIRLS)

The three girls below attended the Noah's Ark day care centre in Mumias.  Because of changes to their family circumstances they have moved to live with other relatives and subsequently had to change schools.  The Nasio Trust still supports all three girls at St Christopher's School (Nyapora).

Family history: Father died in 1998, mother plants and sells vegetables and works for others to earn a living. Ummy is the youngest of seven children.

Family history: Father died from a head injury in 2000, mother’s whereabouts is unknown. Asha lives with her grandparents who have a small scale farm to support the family. Asha has a sister, Rhoda Atieno, who also attends the school. Asha and Rhoda moved to St. Christopher’s school as it is closer to their grandparents’ home.

The new Noah's Ark Centre was officially opened 22 November 2005. It has more than140 children in its care and is manned by ever enthusiastic staff.

berinsfield initiative

Operation Noah’s Ark has been set up by the Campus Youth Centre, in Berinsfield, Oxfordshire, UK, with the aim of helping many Kenyan orphans.
