Primary education is free in Kenya but in order to attend school the children must wear uniform and provide their own stationery, the cost of which is simply beyond the reach of most families affected by the AIDS epidemic. By providing our children with uniforms, stationery and meals we enable them to take their place at school. Our primary school children return to our two day care centres, Noah’s Ark and St Irene’s, each day for their meals, additional tuition and to receive medical care. Throughout the school holidays we continue to provide a programme of education and meals to all our children at our two Day Care Centres. Experience has shown that, without such continuous care, they return at the start of term malnourished and in poor health. Click here to sponsor a child |
