Coronavirus & Travel To Africa

Here at the Nasio Trust we are keeping a close eye on the government’s travel advice regards coronavirus (COVID-19):

As of 10th March 2020 neither Kenya or Tanzania are on the list of countries for which the UK Government has given specific advice but of course this changes almost daily. We recommend anyone planning to travel to Kenya to visit our projects, or to Tanzania to climb Kilimanjaro, also keeps up to date with the Government’s guidelines.

The UN Calls For The End Of Orphanages

In a historic move on December 18th 2019, all 193 member states of the United Nations have formally recognised that orphanages don’t protect children, they harm them, and have called for the progressive elimination of institutional care globally.

Supporters of the Nasio Trust will be aware that our proven model of caring for disadvantaged children in a family-like environment (using a network of amazing Nasio guardians) is a direct reaction to the harm caused by institutionalised care.

3 Men In A Boat Take On The Thames

Nasio trustee and director of GardPass Cyber Neil Passingham has teamed up with Felipe Dias and Emilio Perri to navigate the entire length of the River Thames.

They'll begin at the source in the Cotswolds and make their way through London and on to the sea during July, August & September whilst raising funds for The Nasio Trust.

With deep sadness, we announce the death of Mark San

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Mark San on the 4th July 2017.

He was chairman of the trustees until he resigned due to ill health in 2012. Mark's warmth, spiritual insight and guidance helped plan the initial concept for child care in Kenya and he used the same qualities to assist Nancy and Jonathan with the formation of the Nasio Trust.

In recent decades, changing discourse from the United Nations has altered the focus of international relations from preventing interstate conflict to furthering the human security of individuals.

The UN Development Programme 1994 Human Development Report highlighted these new ideals of “freedom from want” and “freedom from fear” for all people, and claimed that this was the best way to overcome global insecurity.
