Young Farmers Club

The Young Farmers Club (YFC) Project, launched by The Nasio Trust in 2020, trains vulnerable young people in rural Kenya in sustainable agricultural practices, from crop rotation and kitchen gardens to tree nurseries, fish ponds, and beekeeping.

Participants establish Young Farmers Clubs in their schools and, once trained, and use their skills to supplement school meals or household income. In 2025, the project expanded to support youth with limited or no access to land, such as those living in slums, by teaching innovative techniques like polythene farming using recycled containers, ensuring more young people can benefit from agricultural and entrepreneurial training.

We are now partnering with 20 schools and reaching over 150 young people through the clubs.

"The Nasio Trust has helped me possess what I never had. I pray to God that he may bless our sponsors abundantly for their good heart. I thank The Nasio Trust for their great determination."

Changes to the Kenyan Healthcare System Leaves Thousands At Risk

Kenya’s new Social Health Authority (SHA) was meant to expand access to free healthcare. For the communities Nasio serves, it is doing the opposite.

The transition from the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) to SHA has introduced income-based premiums, digital registration, and phone-dependent systems that many families simply cannot access—particularly women, children, and the poorest households.
